National Book Fair 2026 Organized at Central Park, Salt Lake

Salt Lake, 18 January: The much-awaited National Book Fair 2026 began yesterday at the Central Park grounds, attracting publishers, authors, researchers, and readers from across the country. This year, more than 450 stalls have participated, showcasing a vast collection of books on literature, science, history, technology, children’s literature, and many other subjects. The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of eminent literary personalities, which greatly inspired the visiting readers. Special events for children, such as drawing competitions, storytelling sessions, and book-reading activities, were organized to encourage young readers. Additionally, literary discussions, author–reader interactions, and new book launch events added vibrancy to the fair. Speakers at the event highlighted that books broaden human perspectives and create social awareness. Therefore, such fairs play a crucial role in promoting reading culture in society. Modern facilities, including security arrangements, drinking water, rest rooms, and direction maps, were provided for the convenience of visitors. At the end of the program, the authorities stated that seeing the overwhelming enthusiasm and joy of the people, similar book fairs would be organized on an even larger scale in the future. The huge turnout of readers on the opening day greatly encouraged the organizers.

সল্টলেক, ১৮ জানুয়ারি: সেন্ট্রাল পার্ক প্রাঙ্গণে গতকাল শুরু হলো বহুল প্রতীক্ষিত ন্যাশনাল বুক ফেয়ার ২০২৬, যেখানে দেশের নানা প্রান্ত থেকে প্রকাশক, লেখক, গবেষক এবং পাঠকেরা ভিড় জমালেন। বইমেলায় এ বছর প্রায় ৪৫০টিরও বেশি স্টল অংশগ্রহণ করেছে, যেখানে সাহিত্য, বিজ্ঞান, ইতিহাস, প্রযুক্তি, শিশুতোষ বইসহ বিভিন্ন বিষয়ের বিপুল সংগ্রহ প্রদর্শিত হয়েছে। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে বিশিষ্ট সাহিত্যিকদের উপস্থিতি পাঠকদের মধ্যে উৎসাহের সঞ্চার করে। শিশুদের জন্য বিশেষ আঁকাআঁকি প্রতিযোগিতা, গল্প বলার অনুষ্ঠান এবং বইপড়া উৎসাহমূলক কর্মসূচি আয়োজন করা হয়। পাশাপাশি, সাহিত্য আলোচনা সভা, লেখক-পাঠক মুখোমুখি এবং নতুন বই প্রকাশ অনুষ্ঠানও অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, যা মেলায় প্রাণচাঞ্চল্য যোগায়। অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তারা বলেন যে, বই মানুষের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি প্রসারিত করে এবং সমাজকে সচেতন করে তোলে। তাই এমন মেলা পাঠ্যসংস্কৃতি গঠনে অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। অংশগ্রহণকারীদের জন্য নিরাপত্তা, পানীয় জল, বিশ্রাম কক্ষ এবং দিকনির্দেশ মানচিত্রসহ আধুনিক ব্যবস্থাও রাখা হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানের শেষে কর্তৃপক্ষ জানায় যে, মানুষের এত আগ্রহ ও আনন্দ দেখে ভবিষ্যতে আরও বৃহৎ পরিসরে এই ধরনের বইমেলা আয়োজন করা হবে। বইমেলায় প্রথম দিনেই বিশাল সংখ্যক পাঠক সমাগম আয়োজকদের বিশেষভাবে উৎসাহিত করেছে।
