Subject: Plastic pollution and its hazards
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the kind attention of the authority concerned to the growing problem of plastic pollution and its hazards, which has become a serious matter of concern in recent times. Excessive use of plastic has posed a serious threat to the environment and human health.
The problem has been worsening day by day due to indiscriminate use of single-use plastics, improper waste disposal, and lack of recycling facilities. As a result, plastic waste clogs drains, pollutes soil and water, harms wildlife, and causes long-term environmental damage. If immediate steps are not taken, the situation is likely to take a more serious turn in future.
It is high time for the government to take drastic and effective steps to control plastic pollution by strictly enforcing bans on single-use plastics, promoting recycling, and encouraging the use of eco-friendly alternatives. Moreover, public awareness should be aroused through your editorial so that people become conscious of their duties and responsibilities.

বিষয়: প্লাস্টিক দূষণ ও তার ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব

আপনার সম্মানিত দৈনিক পত্রিকার কলামের মাধ্যমে প্লাস্টিক দূষণ ও তার ক্ষতিকর প্রভাবের ক্রমবর্ধমান সমস্যার প্রতি সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করতে চাই, যা সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে একটি গুরুতর উদ্বেগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। অতিরিক্ত প্লাস্টিক ব্যবহারের ফলে পরিবেশ ও মানবস্বাস্থ্যের উপর মারাত্মক প্রভাব পড়ছে।
একবার ব্যবহারযোগ্য প্লাস্টিকের নির্বিচার ব্যবহার, বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনার অভাব এবং পুনর্ব্যবহারযোগ্য ব্যবস্থার ঘাটতির কারণে দিন দিন এই সমস্যা আরও বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এর ফলে নিকাশি ব্যবস্থা বন্ধ হয়ে যাচ্ছে, মাটি ও জল দূষিত হচ্ছে এবং পশুপাখি মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছে। অবিলম্বে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ না করলে ভবিষ্যতে পরিস্থিতি আরও ভয়াবহ হয়ে উঠতে পারে।
অতএব, একবার ব্যবহারযোগ্য প্লাস্টিকের উপর কঠোর নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ, পুনর্ব্যবহার প্রক্রিয়া জোরদার করা এবং পরিবেশবান্ধব বিকল্প ব্যবহারে উৎসাহ দেওয়ার মাধ্যমে প্লাস্টিক দূষণ নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনার জন্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা একান্ত প্রয়োজন। পাশাপাশি, আপনার সম্পাদকীয়ের মাধ্যমে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত, যাতে মানুষ নিজেদের কর্তব্য ও দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন হয়ে ওঠে।
