Subject: Lack of civic sense among citizens
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the kind attention of the authority concerned to the lack of civic sense among citizens, which has become a serious matter of concern in recent times. Public places are often found dirty, traffic rules are frequently violated, and basic civic responsibilities are largely ignored.
The problem has been worsening day by day due to lack of awareness, indifference towards public property, and absence of strict enforcement of civic rules. As a result, cities and towns are becoming unhygienic and chaotic, causing inconvenience to common people. If immediate steps are not taken, the situation is likely to take a more serious turn in future.
It is high time for the government to take drastic and effective steps to promote civic sense through education, strict implementation of laws, and regular awareness campaigns. Moreover, public awareness should be aroused through your editorial so that people become conscious of their duties and responsibilities.

বিষয়: নাগরিকদের মধ্যে নাগরিকবোধের অভাব
মহাশয়/মহাশয়া,
আপনার সম্মানিত দৈনিক পত্রিকার কলামের মাধ্যমে নাগরিকদের মধ্যে নাগরিকবোধের অভাবের দিকে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করতে চাই, যা সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে একটি গুরুতর উদ্বেগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। সর্বত্র ময়লা-আবর্জনা ছড়িয়ে থাকা, ট্রাফিক আইন অমান্য করা এবং সরকারি সম্পত্তির প্রতি অবহেলা এই সমস্যার স্পষ্ট দৃষ্টান্ত।
সচেতনতার অভাব, জনসম্পত্তির প্রতি উদাসীনতা এবং নাগরিক আইন যথাযথভাবে কার্যকর না হওয়ার কারণে দিন দিন এই সমস্যা আরও বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এর ফলে শহর ও জনপদগুলি অপরিচ্ছন্ন ও বিশৃঙ্খল হয়ে উঠছে এবং সাধারণ মানুষ নানাভাবে ভোগান্তির শিকার হচ্ছে। অবিলম্বে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ না করলে ভবিষ্যতে পরিস্থিতি আরও ভয়াবহ হয়ে উঠতে পারে।
অতএব, শিক্ষা, কঠোর আইন প্রয়োগ এবং নিয়মিত সচেতনতা অভিযানের মাধ্যমে নাগরিকবোধ গড়ে তোলার লক্ষ্যে সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা একান্ত প্রয়োজন। পাশাপাশি, আপনার সম্পাদকীয়ের মাধ্যমে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত, যাতে মানুষ নিজেদের কর্তব্য ও দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন হয়ে ওঠে।
