Fatal Boat Capsize in the Ganga

Kolkata, November 12: A tragic boat accident occurred yesterday evening near Babughat when a passenger boat carrying around thirty people capsized in the Ganga River due to strong currents and overloading. Local fishermen and disaster response teams rushed to the spot and rescued twenty-two passengers, while six were reported missing. Two bodies have been recovered so far. The search operation continued late into the night. Eyewitnesses said the boat tilted suddenly before overturning. Authorities have ordered an inquiry into the incident and announced compensation for the families of the deceased.
