Subject: Increasing road accidents due to reckless and rash driving
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the kind attention of the authority concerned to the alarming increase in road accidents due to reckless and rash driving, which has become a serious matter of concern in recent times.
The problem has been worsening day by day due to overspeeding, drunken driving and violation of traffic rules. As a result, pedestrians, school children and elderly people are becoming frequent victims of fatal accidents. If immediate steps are not taken, the situation is likely to take a more serious turn in future.
It is high time for the government to take drastic and effective steps to control reckless driving and ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws so that the situation can be brought under control. Moreover, public awareness should be aroused through your editorial so that people become conscious of their duties and responsibilities.

আপনার সম্মানিত দৈনিক পত্রিকার কলামের মাধ্যমে বেপরোয়া ও অবিবেচক গাড়ি চালনার ফলে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার আশঙ্কাজনক বৃদ্ধির বিষয়ে কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করতে চাই। সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে এই সমস্যা একটি গুরুতর উদ্বেগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে।
অতিরিক্ত গতিতে গাড়ি চালানো, মদ্যপ অবস্থায় গাড়ি চালানো এবং ট্রাফিক আইন লঙ্ঘনের কারণে দিন দিন পরিস্থিতি আরও ভয়াবহ হয়ে উঠছে। এর ফলে পথচারী, স্কুলপড়ুয়া শিশু ও বয়স্ক মানুষরা প্রায়ই মারাত্মক দুর্ঘটনার শিকার হচ্ছেন। অবিলম্বে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ না করলে ভবিষ্যতে পরিস্থিতি আরও ভয়াবহ রূপ নিতে পারে।
অতএব, বেপরোয়া গাড়ি চালনা নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনার জন্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা একান্ত প্রয়োজন। পাশাপাশি, আপনার সম্পাদকীয়ের মাধ্যমে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত, যাতে মানুষ নিজেদের কর্তব্য ও দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন হয়ে ওঠে।
