Subject: Improper waste management
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the kind attention of the authority concerned to the problem of improper waste management, which has become a serious matter of concern in recent times. Poor handling and disposal of waste are posing a grave threat to public health and the environment.
The problem has been worsening day by day due to lack of proper segregation of waste, inadequate recycling facilities, and irresponsible disposal of garbage. As a result, drains get clogged, water bodies are polluted, and people suffer from various diseases. If immediate steps are not taken, the situation is likely to take a more serious turn in future.
It is high time for the government to take drastic and effective steps to improve waste management by ensuring segregation of waste at source, strengthening recycling systems, and enforcing strict waste disposal laws. Moreover, public awareness should be aroused through your editorial so that people become conscious of their duties and responsibilities towards maintaining cleanliness.

আপনার সম্মানিত দৈনিক পত্রিকার কলামের মাধ্যমে অপরিকল্পিত বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনার সমস্যার প্রতি সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করতে চাই, যা সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে একটি গুরুতর উদ্বেগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। বর্জ্য সংগ্রহ ও নিষ্পত্তির অযথাযথ ব্যবস্থার ফলে জনস্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবেশ মারাত্মক ঝুঁকির মুখে পড়ছে।
বর্জ্য পৃথকীকরণের অভাব, পুনর্ব্যবহার ব্যবস্থার ঘাটতি এবং আবর্জনা নির্বিচারে ফেলার প্রবণতার কারণে দিন দিন এই সমস্যা আরও বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এর ফলে নিকাশি ব্যবস্থা বন্ধ হয়ে যাচ্ছে, জলাশয় দূষিত হচ্ছে এবং মানুষ নানা রোগে আক্রান্ত হচ্ছে। অবিলম্বে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ না করলে ভবিষ্যতে পরিস্থিতি আরও ভয়াবহ হয়ে উঠতে পারে।
অতএব, উৎসস্থলে বর্জ্য পৃথকীকরণ নিশ্চিত করা, পুনর্ব্যবহার ব্যবস্থাকে শক্তিশালী করা এবং কঠোর বর্জ্য নিষ্পত্তি আইন কার্যকর করার মাধ্যমে বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনার উন্নতির জন্য সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা একান্ত প্রয়োজন। পাশাপাশি, আপনার সম্পাদকীয়ের মাধ্যমে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত, যাতে মানুষ পরিচ্ছন্নতা রক্ষায় নিজেদের কর্তব্য ও দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন হয়।
