Subject: Global warming and climate change
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the kind attention of the authority concerned to the grave problem of global warming and climate change, which has become a serious matter of concern in recent times. Rising global temperatures are posing a severe threat to the environment and human life.
The problem has been worsening day by day due to excessive emission of greenhouse gases, deforestation, industrial activities, and overuse of fossil fuels. As a result, glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, and extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, and heatwaves are becoming more frequent. If immediate steps are not taken, the situation is likely to take a more serious turn in future.
It is high time for the government to take drastic and effective steps to combat climate change by promoting renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions, and encouraging afforestation. Moreover, public awareness should be aroused through your editorial so that people become conscious of their duties and responsibilities towards protecting the environment.

আপনার সম্মানিত দৈনিক পত্রিকার কলামের মাধ্যমে বিশ্ব উষ্ণায়ন ও জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের গুরুতর সমস্যার প্রতি সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করতে চাই, যা সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে একটি বড় উদ্বেগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। পৃথিবীর গড় তাপমাত্রা ক্রমশ বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ায় পরিবেশ ও মানবজীবন মারাত্মক ঝুঁকির মুখে পড়ছে।
গ্রিনহাউস গ্যাসের অতিরিক্ত নির্গমন, বননিধন, শিল্পকারখানার কার্যকলাপ এবং জীবাশ্ম জ্বালানির অতিরিক্ত ব্যবহারের ফলে দিন দিন এই সমস্যা আরও তীব্র হচ্ছে। এর ফলে হিমবাহ গলে যাচ্ছে, সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠের উচ্চতা বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে এবং বন্যা, খরা ও তাপপ্রবাহের মতো চরম আবহাওয়ার ঘটনা ঘন ঘন ঘটছে। অবিলম্বে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ না করলে ভবিষ্যতে পরিস্থিতি আরও ভয়াবহ হয়ে উঠতে পারে।
অতএব, নবায়নযোগ্য জ্বালানির ব্যবহার বাড়ানো, কার্বন নিঃসরণ হ্রাস করা এবং ব্যাপক বনসৃজনের মাধ্যমে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মোকাবিলায় সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা একান্ত প্রয়োজন। পাশাপাশি, আপনার সম্পাদকীয়ের মাধ্যমে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত, যাতে মানুষ পরিবেশ রক্ষার বিষয়ে নিজেদের কর্তব্য ও দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন হয়।
