Subject: Child labour in urban and rural areas
Sir/Madam,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the kind attention of the authority concerned to the alarming problem of child labour in both urban and rural areas, which has become a serious matter of concern in recent times.
The problem has been worsening day by day due to poverty, lack of education and unemployment among parents. As a result, many children are deprived of their basic rights such as education, health and a safe childhood. If immediate steps are not taken, the situation is likely to take a more serious turn in future.
It is high time for the government to take drastic and effective steps to eradicate child labour by strictly enforcing existing laws and ensuring proper education and rehabilitation for affected children. Moreover, public awareness should be aroused through your editorial so that people become conscious of their duties and responsibilities.

আপনার সম্মানিত দৈনিক পত্রিকার কলামের মাধ্যমে শহর ও গ্রামাঞ্চলে শিশু শ্রমের ভয়াবহ সমস্যার প্রতি সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করতে চাই, যা সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে একটি গুরুতর উদ্বেগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে।
দারিদ্র্য, শিক্ষার অভাব এবং অভিভাবকদের বেকারত্বের কারণে দিন দিন এই সমস্যা আরও বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এর ফলে বহু শিশু শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য এবং নিরাপদ শৈশবের মতো মৌলিক অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত হচ্ছে। অবিলম্বে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ না করলে ভবিষ্যতে পরিস্থিতি আরও ভয়াবহ হয়ে উঠতে পারে।
অতএব, বিদ্যমান আইন কঠোরভাবে কার্যকর করা এবং ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত শিশুদের জন্য উপযুক্ত শিক্ষা ও পুনর্বাসনের ব্যবস্থা নিশ্চিত করার মাধ্যমে শিশু শ্রম নির্মূল করতে সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা একান্ত প্রয়োজন। পাশাপাশি, আপনার সম্পাদকীয়ের মাধ্যমে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত, যাতে মানুষ নিজেদের কর্তব্য ও দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে সচেতন হয়ে ওঠে।
