The 9th edition of the ICC Champions Trophy was played in four different stadiums across the United Arab Emirates and the hosting country Pakistan from February 19 to March 9, 2025. A total of 8 national teams from the top ICC rankings participated in the tournament dividing into two groups of four teams. The tournament featured 15 matches, all of which showcased the strength, skill, planning, and tactics of the teams. As the tournament progressed, the excitement grew. Several great players demonstrated their extraordinary talent, including, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Matt Henry, Ibrahim Zadran, Ben Duckettt, Josh Inglish, K.L. Rahul , Joe Root and many more. A total of 14 personal centuries were scored.
The two semifinals were played between New Zealand and South Africa, and between India and Australia. New Zealand and India defeated South Africa and the Australia by a significant margin, respectively. The final match took place on March 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first, scoring 251 runs for 7 wickets.
Indian spinners including Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakraborty showcased great performance in the first innings and in the second innings, captain Rohit Sharma's 76 runs, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel's partnership and K.L. Rahul's batting led India to victory by 6 wickets, with one over in hand. India won their third ICC Champions Trophy titles.
