Fatal Road Accident on National Highway

Kolkata, November 12: A tragic road accident occurred yesterday evening on National Highway 16 near Howrah, claiming three lives and injuring five others. According to police reports, a speeding truck collided head-on with a private car coming from the opposite direction. The victims were rushed to the nearby district hospital, where three were declared dead on arrival. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the mishap. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding driver. The accident caused a massive traffic jam for over two hours on the busy highway.
