Swami Vivekananda
Mother India has a lot of jewel sons. Among them Swami Vivekananda was one of the greatest social reformer, philosopher and hindu saint. He was born on 12th January 1863 at Shimla in Kolkata when India was under the British rule. His proud parents were Biswanath Datta and Bhubaneswari Devi. He was very naughty in his childhood and was called as 'Bileswar', 'Bile' and 'Naren'. His real name is Narendranath Dutta. He started to go into 'samadhi' when he was only eight. His voice was melodious. This great man learnt Vedanta lesson and became a member of sadharan Brahmo Samaj. He believed in logical thinking and facts only. Later, he became the most beloved follower of Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa. Though he only believed on Brahman, he became the slave of the Terror, Maa Kali. This man of letters attended World Religious Conference at Chicago. He got sister Nivedita as his follower and later he set up Ramkrishna Mission at Belur. This great philosopher left his mortal frame on July 4, 1902 at the age of 39 only. Such a man is above praise, criticism and beyond comparison. Though he was no more, he was in our hearts, is in our heats and will be in our hearts forever.
