B. R. Ambedkar
Mother India has a lot of jewel sons. Among them Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was a great Indian jurist, economist, social reformer and political leader. He was born on 14th April, 1891 at Mhow in central India when India was under the British rule. His proud parents were Bhima and Ramji Sankpal. He received the surname 'Ambedkar' from a teacher and was called Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. This great person completed M.A. from University of Columbia in America. Later he became a teacher in a college. This man of letters organised Satyagraha and protested against untouchability. He became the first law Minister in free India. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is famous for his leading role in drafting the constitution of India. Again he also fought against casteism. To mark his excellent service to the nation, he was honoured with the prestigious Bharat Ratna in the year 1990. This great soul left his mortal frame on 6th December in 1956 at the age of 65. Such a man is above praise, criticism and beyond comparison. Though he is no more, he was in our hearts, is in our hearts and will be in our hearts forever.

ভারত মায়ের অনেক রত্নগর্ভ পুত্র রয়েছে। তাদের মধ্যে ড. বি. আর. আম্বেদকর ছিলেন একজন মহান ভারতীয় আইনজ্ঞ, অর্থনীতিবিদ, সমাজ সংস্কারক এবং রাজনৈতিক নেতা। তিনি ১৮৯১ সালের ১৪ই এপ্রিল মধ্য ভারতের মহু শহরে ব্রিটিশ শাসনামলে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তাঁর গর্বিত বাবা-মা ছিলেন ভীমা এবং রামজি সংকপাল। তিনি একজন শিক্ষকের কাছ থেকে 'আম্বেদকর' উপাধি পেয়েছিলেন এবং তাঁর নাম হয়েছিল ভীমরাও রামজি আম্বেদকর। এই মহান ব্যক্তি আমেরিকার কলাম্বিয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে এম.এ. সম্পন্ন করেন। পরে তিনি একটি কলেজে শিক্ষক হয়েছিলেন। এই বিদ্বান ব্যক্তি সত্যাগ্রহের আয়োজন করেন এবং অস্পৃশ্যতার বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করেন। তিনি স্বাধীন ভারতের প্রথম আইনমন্ত্রী হন। ড. বি. আর. আম্বেদকর ভারতের সংবিধান প্রণয়নে তাঁর অগ্রণী ভূমিকার জন্য বিখ্যাত। এছাড়াও তিনি জাতিবাদের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করেছিলেন। দেশের প্রতি তাঁর চমৎকার সেবার স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ, তিনি ১৯৯০ সালে মর্যাদাপূর্ণ ভারতরত্ন সম্মানে ভূষিত হন। এই মহান আত্মা ১৯৫৬ সালের ৬ই ডিসেম্বর ৬৫ বছর বয়সে তাঁর নশ্বর দেহ ত্যাগ করেন। এমন একজন মানুষ প্রশংসা ও সমালোচনার ঊর্ধ্বে এবং অতুলনীয়। যদিও তিনি আর নেই, সমাজ সংস্কারের ক্ষেত্রে তাঁর বিশাল অবদানের জন্য তিনি আমাদের হৃদয়ে ছিলেন, আমাদের হৃদয়ে আছেন এবং চিরকাল আমাদের হৃদয়ে থাকবেন।
