ICC CRICKET WORLD CUP (FINAL) 2023

Ahmedabad, 20th November : The 13th
edition of ICC Men’s World Cup Tournament was played in ten different stadiums
in ten cities across India between October 5 and November 19, 2023. A total of
10 National teams participated in the tournament, which was hosted by India
solely for the first time. A total of 48 matches were played. All of which
exhibited the strength, determination, great skill and planning of the teams
and managements. The intense increased as the tournament went on. (Some players
showed their extra-ordinary skills in batting, bowling of fielding like Virat
Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Gleen Maxwell, Rachin Ravindra, Travis Head, Q de Cock,
David Warner, DJ Mitchell, Md Shami, Adam Zampa, J Bumrah, D Madhusanaka and
many more.) The semi-finals were intense as India beat New Zealand and
Australia beat South Africa in nail-biting photo finish.
The final match took place on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujrat. In the final India faced Australia. Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. India scored 240 runs for 10 wickets. (Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Bumrah played exceptional.) But, Australia played really well (especially Travis Head, M Labuschagne, Mitchell Starc) and won the tournament for the sixth times. T Head was rewarded the Player of the Match award in final and Virat Kohli was awarded the Player of the Tournament award. Though defeated Indian team led by Rohit Sharma won the hearts of millions of cricket fans for its fighting spirit, integrity and fairplay.
